The aim behind Smack Game

The aim behind Smack Game is to make your opponents lose balance. Because your players will be facing each other with nothing else to hold onto, it’s easy for them to be thrown off balance each time to “smack” one another.

Group Size and Age

Smack Game is ideally played in group sizes between 2 to 10 people. You will have to split your players into pairs, so if you have larger groups, do ensure that your final number of players is even.

The game can be played by anyone aged 10 and up.

What to prepare for Smack Game

You don’t have to prepare any materials beforehand to play Smack Game. You should, however, have a large space for all your players to stand around as a lot of movements will be required.

How to Play Smack Game

To play Smack Game, you will first have to put your players in pairs. It’s best to have players pair up with someone they’re unfamiliar with as this will make Smack Game the ideal icebreaker game. Here are the steps to playing Smack Game once you have your players ready:

Step 1: Have your players stand face to face at an arm’s length away from each other. Remind them that they cannot touch each other until the game begins.

Step 2: After a countdown period, your players must stretch out their arms, so their palms touch one another. They cannot hold onto each other, only tap. This is like giving each other a high 10 cheer but with a little push each time.

Step 3: As hard as they can, your players will have to repeat the “high 10” motion to each other. This is the smack element to the Smack Game. When any of the players lose their balance, their opponents will gain a point.

Step 4: The game ends when either one of the players gets 10 points or more.

Different ways to play Smack Game

If you’d like to play Smack Game differently as a group, a good way to do this is by splitting your players into 2 teams. Have the 2 teams stand in a line and face each other. When the game starts, every player will have to “smack” their opponents and throw them off balance – the same way you play the original Smack Game.

When any of the players loses balance, they will be eliminated from the team. The team with the most players remaining will win the game.
