Aim of the Game
This is a physical game that will make students have fun while practicing their math lessons. Students will have to solve math problems using the numbers found on the dices. Once they do that, they’ll play tag.
Group Size and Age
The optimal number of people that should be playing this game is 10 or more. The number of people should be an even number since the group is divided into 2 teams.
This game works best for students from grade one to grade twelve.
Preparation and Needed Materials
First of all, you need a large area to play in. An open park or a school gym would work perfectly.
Then, bring 2 large dices (inflatable dices) and sticky tags to stick them on the students’ bodies.
How to Play the Dice Tage Game
After the group has gathered, the leader or teacher should divide them into 2 teams, namely odd team and even team. Then, the teacher would roll the two dices and the students should solve math problems with the numbers given.
Step 1: The teacher would give instructions to add, multiply, or subtract the numbers on the dices.
Step 2: If the resulting number is odd, the odd team will run in one direction. On the contrary, if the number is even, the even team will run the opposite side.
Step 3: The objective of the game is to not get touched, or tagged by the opponent team. So, if the even team is running, they should not be touched by the odd team and they should keep their tag on their body.
Students who got tagged would do an exercise that the teacher determines. Also, students who solve the math problem wrong and run the opposite direction will do the same exercise.
